One of the main reasons that Christmas is celebrated on December 25th is because this is the date that early Christians believed Jesus was born. Although the Bible does not give a specific date for Jesus’ birth, December 25th was chosen because it was already a day of celebration for pagans who celebrated the winter solstice.Early Christians were eager to distance themselves from paganism, so they chose a date that was not associated with any pagan holidays. However, some historians believe that Christmas was actually moved to December 25th in order to coincide with the pagan holiday of Saturnalia.
The tradition of decorating a Christmas tree began in Germany in the 16th century. The first Christmas trees were decorated with edible items such as fruits, nuts, and candles. In the 18th century, glass ornaments became popular, and in the 19th century, Christmas trees were decorated with electric lights for the first time.
Whatever the reason, December 25th has been associated with the birth of Jesus for centuries. And while the specific date is not important, what is important is that we remember the reason for the season – to celebrate the birth of our Savior. The history of Santa Claus is a long and varied one. Though most people today think of Santa Claus as a jolly old man who delivers presents to children on Christmas Eve, the origins of Santa Claus are actually quite different.
The earliest known reference to Santa Claus comes from the 3rd century, when a bishop named Saint Nicholas lived in what is now Turkey. Saint Nicholas was known for his generosity, and stories about his gift-giving soon spread throughout the Christian world.
By the Middle Ages, Saint Nicholas had become the patron saint of children, and his feast day (December 6th) was celebrated with gifts and treats. It was around this time that some of the first images of Saint Nicholas as a gift-giver began to appear.

When it comes to Christmas, one of the most popular traditions is following Santa Claus on his journey around the world. And while there are a few different ways to do this, one of the most popular is through NORAD’s Santa Tracker.
NORAD, or the North American Aerospace Defense Command, is a joint effort between the United States and Canada that provides aerospace warning, air sovereignty, and protection for North America. And every year since 1955, they’ve been tracking Santa’s journey on Christmas Eve.
So how does it work? Well, NORAD uses a variety of technology to track Santa, including radar, satellites, and Santa cams. They also take reports from people around the world who spot Santa. If you want to track Santa yourself, you can do so on NORAD’s website or through their app. And if you want to get even more into the Christmas spirit, you can also listen to Christmas music and check out some of the other fun activities on their website.
The holidays are upon us and that means it’s time to start tracking Santa! The North American Aerospace Defense Command (NORAD) has been tracking Santa since 1955 and they are ready to do it again this year.
Here’s how it works: on Christmas Eve, starting at 2:00am EST, you can visit noradsanta.org or download the NORAD Tracks Santa app to see Santa’s current location. Santa’s route is plotted on a map in real-time, and you can also see how many presents he has delivered and how many more he has to go.
This year, you can also track Santa via Amazon Alexa, Google Assistant, and Microsoft Cortana. Just ask them, “Where is Santa?” on Christmas Eve and they’ll give you an update.
NORAD isn’t the only Santa tracker out there. Google also has a Santa tracker that you can use to see where Santa is on Christmas Eve.
