Modernization and Global Inequality

Nowadays, an updated version of social culture is supposed to be modernised. It is connected with globalization . However, it is said that modernization theory is Eurocentric. But according to me, dependency theory and globalization theory are also biased.

I think two of them are similar in the point of centralization. There is a popular opinion also, or some might be taught that western culture is considered best above all. Capitalistic and communistic societies both play the same role on this point of view. That means, it shows clearly that developed and developing countries are not similar.

The criticism has been raised that the theory of dependency does not show a clear proof. It’s just a theory that we believe in equality. That’s the current point of view of many.

Technology is the way of continued prosperity. But everyone can’t get this opportunity in a similar portion. So, modernization theory is eurocentric, that opinion is criticised by a big portion of society. That’s why dependency theory and globalization theory are also biased.

Globalization is the connection of the different parts of the world. There, Modernization is the behaviour of those social interactions. Dependency is mainly focused on the power of any state. On the basis of power and supply, one state depends on the other state. Such as, in the global era, we can be connected with all parts of the world by using modern technology. But even, all are dependent on the Technology or facilities provider. This is the comparison among globalization, modernization and dependency theory. Example : We are dependent on the internet service and social media or search tool google to play a modern role by increasing the global relation and economic development. Hill, D. (2012, July 8).

On the other hand, the common thing among those is, all are co related with others. Modernization increases the usage of technology and the technology can put an impact on the economic development which will increase the capacity of power distribution of the globe. Example : Updated role of social interaction is dependent on technology such as the internet, google, facebook, and you tube. Then it increases our capacity of global connection.

Moreover, all these theories interrelated with each other.
